What is vinyl decking?
-
Vinyl decking is a PVC membrane flooring for use on deck and roof deck surfaces. It's available in a number of different colors and patterns and creates a 100% waterproof deck surface. Click here to see our colors and patterns
How is it installed?
-
Vinyl decking is fully adhered to a smooth substrate using adhesives. Any joints in the membrane are overlapped by 1 inch and fully heat welded together to create a completely waterproof finish. The perimeters of the deck are then wrapped down over the outside edges, and wrapped up the inside walls, and mechanically fastened.
Will my existing deck be able to have vinyl decking installed?
-
We recommend deck made of ‘Plywood’ or ‘Concrete’. Our product creates a waterproof surface so the exsisting deck should have a built-in slope to drain moisture away from the building. Vinyl should not be installed over top of pressure-treated plywood as the treatment chemicals can stain the vinyl membrane. Call us for a quote. We also build decks if you need something to accommodate.
How long will vinyl decking last?
-
Vinyl Deck surface can last up to 15-25 years depending upon the application, exposure, and care of the deck.
How much does it cost?
-
Typically it's priced per sq.ft but many other variables come into play. Best to give us a call to discuss
Will vinyl decking hold up in hot and cold temperatures?
-
Yes – our products are formulated with UV & Heat stabilizers and a factory-applied acrylic topcoat for additional protection and longevity. And don't worry in those cold months either with state-of-the-art plasticizers that allow the membrane to remain flexible at very low temperatures.
Can I shovel my deck when it snows?
-
Snow can be shoveled off surfaces using a plastic snow shovel or a push broom. Be sure the plastic shovel does not have a metal blade. Rock Salt and other similar Ice Melting compounds can be used as long as any residue left by these products are washed off the surface with soap and rinsed well with clean water prior to the following spring/summer suns.
How can I clean my vinyl decking?
-
It is best to clean your deck surface with a mild dish soap solution and a soft-bristle brush or broom for light scrubbing. After cleaning be sure to rinse the surface well with clean water or a garden hose.
